Landon Jet Dean.. The Big Day!

Well I decided to try this out, keeping track of Landon's milestones are important to us so hopefully this will be fun for everyone to read! Here we go.....

Dustin and I arrived at the hospital on Wednesday night, September 16, 2009 at 6pm. Dr. Pepperell (my OBGYN) wanted to start me on cervidil to soften my cervix. I was really uncomfortable through the night only waking up to be VERY uncomfortable! On September 17 around 8 am the nurses came in and hooked me up to the Pitocin. I couldn't handle it much longer, so I finally agreed to the epidural which I was dreading! NOT bad.. I heard horror stories so I was expecting the worse! I was feeling really good and in great spirits! My water broke right after my epidural and at 12:49 pm our baby boy was born! I couldn’t believe how fast it all happened... so fast in fact that my doctor almost didn’t make it! After 39 long weeks he was here, I had waited so long to see his face, hold him and hear his cries. Dustin’s face was priceless and my eyes filled with tears as Dr. Pepperell laid Landon on my chest. The first moment seeing your child is incredible, and I will never in my life forget that moment. How can you be SO in love already?

Landon was born on September 17, 2009 at 12:49 pm. He was 7 pounds 13 oz and 20 inches long. I have to admit that I had a pretty easy labor, and couldn't believe how fast it went by. I kept repeating to my doctor "I can't believe it's over!" I can definitely do this again!

Not only was Dustin a trooper throughout my whole pregnancy but even more so at the hospital. He slept on a chair for 3 nights, didn't leave my side and was quite the camera man per my request...not once did he complain nor loose his patience with me (some may say I can be grumpy when I am tired). We were both running on adrenaline! I didn't want to sleep, all I wanted to do was hold my baby boy and stare at every inch of him.

We were so lucky.. our family and friends were there during this very special time. As a matter of fact, we all joked that the paparazzi was there. Thanks to all for the hours spent at the hospital and for all the awesome pictures you took.
