Checking out his new backpack
We enrolled Landon in MDO on Tues/Thurs from 9-2 at the church we attend, Prestonwood. We absolutely love this church, and the director of MDO programs could not be any sweeter!! On our way there I felt a knot in my stomach, I was nervous. I felt like it was "MY" first day of school. Dustin assured me Landon would do great, I just needed the first drop off to be over with I guess. We walked hand-in-hand into church and met with Kristen (the director). She took us to his classroom, and gave us a run down of the schedule. His teacher, Ms. Drake was gone that day but his other teachers were there. Its very reassuring because he has 3 teachers in one classroom. Every time someone at church would ask who his teacher was and I told them, "Ms. Drake"- the responses I got were WONDERFUL! That was such great news! I mean, I know I shouldn't expect anything less from Prestonwood. He walked right in with his little nap mat and dinosaur backpack, looking like a big boy. We went into the class room just to get one last kiss bye, (he was VERY ready for me to leave by the way) and a picture!
Wasn't sure if I was going to make it to the car before crying, wasn't sure how Landon would react. Well, very surprising I didn't cry. Landon didn't either but that wasn't a huge shock to me. I was so excited, because HE was excited! He is such a big boy!
Kristen told me to call and check on him if I wanted to and she would text me a pic, well sure enough I called around noon and she sent me a picture of him laying on his nap mat ready for nap time!
I am so excited about this MDO program and how wonderful he is doing. He even knows some of the kids names, and talks about them. Gracie and Ben. Every Tues/Thurs he brings home artwork and a note of how his day went. We look so forward to this! His teacher is so wonderful and caring.
